Tour: Seduced by Innocence

Title: Seduced by Innocence
Author: Kimberly Kinrade
Release Date: Jan 2013

Summary:

Seduction comes in many forms.

"Liquid fire poured into me, filling me with the intimate sense of him as he leaned in to claim my lips with his own. I reached for him, needing him closer, but my arms couldn't close the distance between us, which grew wider with each hitched breath. So close to finally feeling something real, something carnal and deep, I cried out in frustration, dropping my hands as he disappeared. My cries deepened into a frenzy of panic and my eyes flew open. I clutched my blanket and stilled myself to calm my racing heart.

Just a dream. Always just a dream."

Rose Wintersong didn't have an ordinary upbringing. Raised in what most would call a hippy commune, but what is actually a powerful coven of witches, she never questions the life fate chose for her.

Until she meets Derek O'Conner.

Derek challenges everything Rose believes and forces her to see the secrets hidden beneath the whitewashed walls of her idyllic country life.

Rose knows she should walk away, that the sexy martial arts instructor is bad news bred to create discord in her tight community… but the animal magnetism between them is impossible to fight.

Caught between the passion of first love, and the steady beat of the life she's always known, Rose must choose between the innocence of her youth or the pleasures of womanhood—but lost innocence comes at a price, and Rose harbors a dark secret that could destroy everyone she loves—including Derek.

Submit to the Seduced Saga as Derek and Rose face their future while unraveling the mysteries of their past.

REVIEW:

I have loved every book I have read by Kimberly Kinrade and Seduced by Innocence was no different.  This a classic Romeo and Juliet story with a huge paranormal twist.  Each chapter starts with a verse from Romeo and Juliet which I truly loved because the quotes really set each and every scene.  It was delightful!

Rose is a witch who has a very dark power.  She is a sweet girl but because of her dark gift she has been an outcast in her own coven her entire life.  She wants to experience the greatest pleasures in life without fear of herself.

Derek is a super sexy martial arts teacher who just so happens to be a Druid/Shifter.  He doesn't want his families power and money to define him.  He is determined to live his life on the road and never look back but when tragedy strikes his family he finds his way home.

Rose and Derek are thrown together by none other than fate herself.  There love is intoxicating and there challenges are bittersweet.  Their families hate each other but they have no clue who each other is.

Kimberly Kinrade writing is intense.  She has mastered the art of suspense in a romantic coming of age story.

This book has one hell of a cliffhanger so be ready for book two!

Review: Immortal Ever After

Immortal Ever After (Argeneau, #18)
Title:  Immortal Ever After
Author:  Lynsay Sands
Series:  Argeneau #18
Release Date:  Feb 26, 2013
Publisher:  Avon
Format:  eARC
Pages:  384
Source:  Publisher via Edelweiss

Summary:

New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands delivers a wickedly fun Argeneau novel featuring a vampire ready to claim his mate and the beauty who resists her fate!

A kiss doesn’t mean eternity . . .

Valerie Moyer doesn’t believe in vampires—until she is kidnapped by a fanged psychopath! After escaping her bloodthirsty captor, she’s through with creatures of the night. Until she finds herself under the protection of the darkly handsome Anders. Not only is she expected to accept that Anders is immortal, but also that she is the woman destined to be his life mate!

. . . Or does it?

Anders felt a connection to Valerie from the moment he cradled her bruised body in his arms. But before he claims her, he must destroy the vampire who almost stole her from him forever. His job would be easier if Valerie didn’t fight him every step of the way. Still, Anders loves a challenge, and the green-eyed beauty is worth fighting for!

Review:
Lynsay Sands has done an impeccable job in writing Immortal Ever After.  Her ability to create such amazing stories over and over is amazing.

Immortal Ever After is probably my favorite Argeneau book to date.  This time we have a heroine who can take care of herself.  Valerie is incredible.

Anders seemed real to me.  He is handsome and wholesome.  He never tried to be the typical type of man that thinks a women needs a man to take care of her.  He trusts Valerie to take care of herself while being with her if she needed him.

Their romance was fun and sexy but it was believable and to me that is what makes a story good.

I look forward to the next book in this series!

This is a beautiful story about accepting who you are flaws and all.  Its all about being able to find love for yourself as well as others.

I love this series!  I can not wait to see what these girls get into next!!

ARC Review: Wicked Kiss

Wicked Kiss (Nightwatchers, #2)
Title:  Wicked Kiss
Author: Michelle Rowen
Series: Nightwatchers #2
Release Date: Feb 26, 2013
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Format:  eARC
Source: Publisher via NetGalley

Summary:

MY KISS CAN KILL.

I used to be ordinary Samantha Day, but that's changed. Now, after one dark kiss from a dangerous boy, I can steal someone's soul...or their life. If I give in to the constant hunger inside me, I hurt anyone I kiss. If I don't...I hurt myself.

Bishop is the one whose kiss I crave most, but if I kiss him, I'll kill him. Then there's another boy, one I can't hurt. One whose kiss seems to miraculously quell my hunger. They're both part of a team of angels and demons that's joined forces in my city to fight a mysterious rising darkness, an evil that threatens everyone I know and love. I just wonder if I'll be able to help Bishop-or if I'm just another part of the darkness he's sworn to destroy....

NIGHTWATCHERS

When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising...

Review:

Wicked Kiss is the second installment in the mystical tale of the Nightwatcher series.  This is one series that you wont soon forget.  Wicked Kiss offers a variety of mystery, love and jealousy that will keep you guessing.  It is one of the best Fallen Angel series on the market.

Michelle Rowen makes her world of Fallen Angels and Demons come alive!  She writes her books with a beautiful and heartfelt imagination.  Its the kind of story that I want to read again and again.

Samantha has had a really hard time.  She still cares for Bishop but when she kisses him she hurts him.  However when she kisses his brother her hunger is sated.  This makes for an interesting beginning to a possible love triangle.

Samantha learns more and more about what she is up against.  She takes a lot of turns while figuring out the truth about what is plaguing the city, but once discovered she knows that she has to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the ones she loves.

Wicked Kiss is an emotional rollercoster that just keeps going.  I don't ever want this ride to stop.  While the end of this book cleans up nicely, I'm still hoping for an encore!!

ARC Review: The Goddess Inheritance

Title:  The Goddess Inheritance
Author:  Aimee Carter
Series:  Goddess Test #3
Release Date:  February 2013
Publisher:  Harlequin Teen
Format: Ebook
Pages:  384
Source:  Harlequin Teen and Netgalley

Summary:

Love or life.
Henry or their child.
The end of her family or the end of the world.
Kate must choose.

During nine months of captivity, Kate Winters has survived a jealous goddess, a vengeful Titan and a pregnancy she never asked for. Now the Queen of the Gods wants her unborn child, and Kate can't stop her--until Cronus offers a deal.

In exchange for her loyalty and devotion, the King of the Titans will spare humanity and let Kate keep her child. Yet even if Kate agrees, he'll destroy Henry, her mother and the rest of the council. And if she refuses, Cronus will tear the world apart until every last god and mortal is dead.

With the fate of everyone she loves resting on her shoulders, Kate must do the impossible: find a way to defeat the most powerful being in existence, even if it costs her everything.

Even if it costs her eternity.

Review:

Aimee Carter has created a masterpiece. The Greek Gods are incredible by right but when you have an author that can humanize them the way that she has then what you get is simply incredible.

This book was magnificent.  It had the humor, the danger, the bickering between every single God and Goddess.  It had relationship problems, love and oh did it have some raging hormones going on!  It just doesn't get much better!

Kate and Henry were phenomenal in this book.  They love each other and in comes through on every page.

They now have a reason to fight in this war.  Kate has given birth to her son, Milo, only to have him taken from her by Calliope and Cronus.  They have to get him back no matter what because he is more important to them than anything else in the world.

Kate is a bit of a martyr in this book and she is willing to sacrifice herself over and over again to save her family, but what mother wouldn't?  She would have been better off to have talked about her plans with Henry.  If Henry had known what she had gotten herself into then things might have gone a bit differently.  Lives might have been saved.

Henry knows that Kate is planing to give herself over to Cronus to save her family but he know there is a better way.  He knows that while he might get Milo back there is no family without Kate and he will do everything in his power to save her and his son.

The other Gods and Goddesses have plenty of page time.  James is still there helping Kate every step of the way even when it gets him into trouble.  Diane, Walter and even Ava are also trying to help in any way they can.

The Goddess Inheritance is the final book in this series.

Wait?

What?

No.

I don't think its over!

Seriously after finishing this book I don't think we have seen the end of this gang.  There were several ways this story could continue on.  It could continue with Kate and Henry or maybe even have a few spin offs.  I mean come on James has to find his HEA and according to Kate he is supposed to do that within a short amount of time.  Ava's son Eros makes an appearance and I can see that story going somewhere.  So yeah I don't think that this lovely world will be ending anytime soon.  We just might have a longer wait than any of us had hopped for.

Review: Dark Kiss

Dark Kiss (Nightwatchers, #1)
Title:  Dark Kiss
Author:  Michelle Rowen
Series:  Nightwatchers #1
Release Date: May 22, 2012
Publisher:  Harlequin Teen
Format:  Paperback
Pages:  352
Source:  Purchased

Summary:

I don't do dangerous.

Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that's me. But I just couldn't pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It's like part of me is missing-and I don't know if I can get it back.

Then there's Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he's keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he's what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me....

NIGHTWATCHERS

When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising...

Review:

This is the first book by Michelle Rowen that I have read and I am impressed.  The world building was completely unique.  I dont think I have ever read anything quite like it.

Samantha is an anomaly in the world she just doesnt know it.  She gets her soul sucked out when she is kissed by her long time crush.  Now she is a gray.  She is overwhelmed by all of this but when she meets the dark and sexy if not a little crazy Bishop things start to make a little bit of sense.

Bishop is an angel that is on a mission from heaven to stop the problem of the grays but when he fell from heaven something went wrong.  His mind is not quite right.  The only time he is himself is when Samantha touches him.

They work together in this exhillartating tale of heroism and forbidden love.  Samantha helps him find the other angels and demons to help witht the mission.

My favorite character in this book is Kraven.  He is not only Bishops brother but also a demon.  He has secrets but seems to be a part of the team.

Overall I really enjoyed this book!  I cant wait for the next in the series because there is a bit of a cliffhanger.
